Oh, Phoebe, I completely agree. I only meant that airing opinions is better than not... but that I am not convinced that this assures the primacy of truth, or whatever better term might stand in for that.

I'm not sure I agree with the first half either. For one thing, it reinforces the idea that there are exactly "two sides." Or more deeply, it suggests the typical kind of journalistic bugaboo where we find "two sides" and then give each equal time, even when one side is a fringe minority and the other is an established point of view (e.g. climate change). Not that established views shouldn't be critiqued, but that they shouldn't be placed as equivalent.

You have to be pretty naive to believe that when something as HUGE as wikileaks gets covered by the major media that it STILL doesn't trend on Twitter. Come on! That defies common sense and logic.

Of course they are censoring us - and not just on Twitter. What Facebook blocks or deletes is even more obvious. What do you expect their official representatives to say?

"Of course we are censoring you - we didn't think you'd mind" ???
